A WORD FROM THE ALTAR BREAD DEPARTMENT The Altar Bread workshop of the Benedictine Monastery of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Westfield, Vermont has been baking and selling hosts for over 15 years. We baked over 2 million hosts in 2003 (i.e. some 40,000 per week.) This contemplative work, centered on the Eucharist, is particularly adapted to our cloistered way of life. We would like to acquaint you with the service we hope to provide to your community. Careful attention is given to each stage of the baking operation. No detail is overlooked. Baking is done daily to guarantee freshness. To ensure the highest quality, only the finest ingredients are used. Special attention is given to packaging and handling to maintain a high level of purity and hygiene. We offer altar breads in several different sizes and varieties, including all popular sizes of whole wheat and pure white, thin hosts (1 1/8" and 1 3/8"). A wide range of concelebration hosts are also available: 2 ¾" (scored or unscored), 4 ½" (unscored), 4 ¾" (scored) and 5 ½" (scored). We also bake thick golden hosts. This variety includes sizes 1 3/8", 2 ¾", 4 ½", 5 ¼". We provide standing order services and can respond to emergencies as well as overnight, if necessary. You can be assured of a quick response. Each order is guaranteed fresh. If you are not completely satisfied, we will replace your order or refund your money. We would be most grateful to become your provider of altar breads.
