Once in the early morning and seven times during the day (5:30 AM to 8:10 PM) the tower bell calls the nuns to sing the praise of the Lord. In accordance with the Vatican II CONSTITUTION ON THE SACRED LITURGY, Latin and Gregorian chant have been retained for Mass and the Office.

Below are pictures of rosaries, hand made by Sisters at our monastery and sold at our gift shop.

For the Son of God made man, obedience was the means of showing forth in time and space that He was always turned toward His Father (I Jn 1:2; Jn 1:1). From the first instant of His conception in the womb of the Virgin Mary to His last breath on the Cross, the life of Jesus was PRAYER and WORK in OBEDIENCE:
I have come to do Your will. . . .
Father . . . I have accomplished Your work. . . . Into Your hands I commend my spirit
(Heb 10:7; Jn 17:4, Lk 23:46).
It is not surprising therefore that Christ's ardent followers thirst for obedience:
Obedience is the virtue of those who hold nothing dearer to them than Christ (RB 5).
Those called to the monastic life find at the monastery ideal conditions in which to SEEK GOD. Through prayer and work, they strive to re-live the mystery of love and obedience by which the Son of God redeemed the world.
Through Christ, with Christ, in Christ:
• They listen to the silent Word of God:
I will listen to what the Lord says, for He speaks . . . to those who turn to Him in their harts (Ps 85:8).
• They study the Word of God:
Holy Scripture is a letter from God to His creature. . . . Therefore, every day, study and ponder the Words of your Creator. Strive to know the Heart of God through His Words. (Pope Saint Gregory the Great).
• They sing the Word of God during the liturgical prayer as they praise, thank and beseech the Father with the very words inspired by His Spirit (especially the Psalms), and on behalf of all mankind to whom they lend their voices.
This is the work par excellence of the Benedictine life: Saint Benedict calls it THE WORK OF GOD. So important is the Divine Office, with Mass as its center and summit, that the entire framework of the daily schedule is built on it.
• They permeate with prayer and loving obedience all manual and intellectual work, and meals, rest and recreation, which occupy the time left after the celebration of the Divine Office.
Always carried out the inside the enclosure, work is for each member the means of contributing to the upkeep and livelihood of the monastery. At present, the nuns of the Immaculate Heart of Mary support themselves mainly through the baking of Altar breads.

The nuns are dedicated to the one thing necessary (Lk 10:42): they contemplate, love and praise the infinite Beauty of God. By their life of prayer and by the prayer of their life, they can reach, through His infinite Might, all the needs of all the world. Since the power of God is unlimited, the power of prayer is also unlimited!
